Fluent Axial Velocity Definition

In Fluent, when applying a pressure-inlet boundary with specification as a direction vector with a cylindrical coordinate system, is the axial component of velocity defined as perpendicular to the inlet plane?

I have an pressure inlet plane, inclined around 10degrees from vertical, and although I have not specified a radial velocity component when examining the velocity vectors of my converged solution I appear to have a radial component of velocity at inlet which disappears almost instantly downstream.

Thanks!
