Hi,

Are you sure there is solid silicon in the materials database? In my version of Fluent (12.1) silison is only defined as a fluid.
In the create/edit materials panel if Ichoose "Solid" from he drop down menu (upper right corner) I cannot see silicon.
There is solid silicon in the fluid database though - but I guess it can only be defined as fluid, and cannot replace Aluminum as a solid.

Marion.

thanks marion . the version of my fluent is 6.3 . so you mean that i should choose silicon as a fluid ? but once i solved the problem with choosing silicon as a fluid and my teacher said its wrong

No - I jut meant that you cannot choose Silicon in the solids as it is not there... Have you tried creating your own solid using the silicon properties?

So u mean ,i crate a new material with solid silicon properties but choose the solid option in materials menu?

Yes! That's what I mean.
