Symmetry problem
Hey,
my problem is the partial symmetry of my geometry. The whole geometry consists of a nonsymmetric pipe with air and inside this pipe there is a symmetric body. My question: Is it possible to create only one half of the body and to give the symmetry plane of the body the boundary condition "symmetry"? Or is the b.c. "symmetry" only available for the whole geometry? Thank you in advance for your answers!
Please don't do that.
Unless the whole physical domain is symmetrical (in terms of geometry AND the Reynoldsaveraged flow field) you cannot exploit any symmetries.
ok, thank you...it was just a thought ;)
