Equivalent porous jump condition
Hello Everybody,
I have two porous surfaces - one on top of another with a certain small distance between them. One of them is horizontal with a certain porosity while another is inclined with another porosity. I would like to use a single porous jump condition for modeling both surfaces with no gap between them. I was wondering if there was any way of combining the two porous surfaces into an equivaluent surface. For modeling in FLUENT this becomes a two part question, I believe: 1. How can the equivalency with respest to geometry be established? and 2. How can the pressure drop vs. velocity correlation be combined? I hope I have been clear with my intended calculations but please let me know if further clarifications are needed. I think that there should be a method of doing this, as I think that this is an oft encountered problem. Thanks in advance for your suggestions. |

While these links are useful, my question is more about using a single equivalent porous jump condition to simulate two porous surfaces separated by a small distance. In other words, how can we model the geometry and pressure drop correlation, if we have two porous surfaces stacked on each other, with a single porous jump condition in FLUENT? |
