Surfaces Solidworks to Ansys

Hi everyone,

I have constructed a parallel cord wing shape in Solidworks and have managed to import it into Ansys. I want to do a 2D analysis in Fluent. The C-mesh that I constructed around the airfoil seemed fine.

I used "create named selection" to define the inlet, outlet and airfoil but for some reason I cannot select any of these in post-processing and plot things such as y+ values and pressure coefficients.

Otherwise the simulation ran fine and the results seem good.

Anyone know how to fix this problem so that I can plot y+ values?

Cheers

Nevermind.

Found how to define zones as surfaces. For some reason Fluent did it automatically for the airfoils I pulled from coordinates files, but not for the imported Solidworks model.

For future reference for people coming to this thread. In the fluent simulation toolbar, under Surface, go to Zones. In the input box that opens you can select any named selections you have created and create them as surfaces.

Cheers
