how to calculate circulation in ansys fluent 13.0

i am performing numeruical experiment on subsonic airfoil in ansys fluent 13.0. i want to calculate circulation around the airfoil on the defined shape of rectangle. is there any way of calculating circulation??????? help me...i am new to cfd:confused::confused::confused:

Integrate vorticity over the entire domain or just the rectangle (volume integral), that gives you circulation.

If you need to: use definition of circulation and apply Stoke's theorem to convince yourself that it gives the same result.

no..it would not give the circulation. i need user defined codes that would calculate simultaneously along with drag and lift history ...stokes theorem cannot be applied to the area inside of which there is airfoil...

Stoke's theorem should work even around airfoils?

ijlal November 17, 2012 04:43

we want circulation on a rectangle around airfoil. and stokes theorem is applied for deformable boundary.since the rectangle contains airfoil and hence it is not applied here....can you suggest me some other way....have you ever calculated it before???????
