Moving nozzle

Hello
I want to model a nozzle moving at a certain rate across its axis. Like moving about a certain point along its axis if viewed in 2D. The whole nozzle is moving while simultaneously the flow is passing through it. How I can model it using dynamic mesh while the mesh is not disturbing the whole domain of nozzle is moving across a gimbal point (which is located on its axis) |

Hi,
not sure to understand your problem. The problem is 2d or 3d? How movement of the nozzle is accommodated by remaining domain? You have a far flow in which the nozzle is immersed? RBF Morph (http://rbf-morph.com) could be the right solution for your problem. It can be used both for internal and external flows in steady and transient analyses (and it seems you have to prescribe the movement in advance, isn't it?). This GIF demontrate how a carotid bifurcation can be deformed. |

Ans: 2d How movement of the nozzle is accommodated by remaining domain? Ans: Not sure (but the type of movement of right artery side ways you showed except swelling (bulging) is required) You have a far flow in which the nozzle is immersed? Ans: no far flow just pressure inlet in beginning of convergent |

You can do it. A not official released version of RBF Morph for 2D exists. Contact info@rbf-morph.com for details.
