Hello!

I'm in the process of simulating a pulsating jet flow in 3D using LES, and have done so successfully, I'm just wondering is there a way to see the results of a simulation at different time steps, therefore allowing me to actually see how the flow developed.

Is there any way to do this once a simulations been completed?

Any help's appreciated, thank you!

Thanks. I'll check, but I'm pretty certain I don't have access to tecplot. Is there any other way?

You can only do that if you saved the information during calculation (under "calculation activities), but not afterwards. You can create these animations in fluent ("Solution Animation") or with other programs as well. But in any case you need to start recording during/before your calculation.

This is what I do.
Write out the Velocity file at a predetermined scene using the execute commands for each time step. This gives me a bunch of JPEG files for each timestep. Then I stitch together these files using http://www.lcdf.org/gifsicle/
This gives me a animated GIF which I can view, as well as use in Reports
