Hi friends
I have to model ferrofluid with fluent .
I have a big problem.
I have to investigate the flow behaviour in two cylanders with different dimension , in result of experiment that I have , the flow is static in the first , but in fluent I have to have velocity inlet in mixture model until I can give volume fraction of secondry phase.
in experimental result , in the first , ferrofluid is between two cylander and then outer cylander start to rotate ,
can you help me about this problem . tnx alot

Hello,

I think you have a VOF problem and there are some hints to help you:

1- You have to patch your inicial solution, i.e. you will start your simulation with the ferrofluid between the cylinders;

2- Use the VOF method because you have 2 imiscible fluids (ferrofluid, and air)

I am glad to help you.

att.

Is your major metallurgy? Do you want to simulate the tapping? I will simulate this process next month. And I think you can seperate it to two parts:
first, just simulate the tapping from one ladle and store the case and data (the volume fraction).
second, use the advanced file as the velocity data to simulate the next process.
