Hello everyone, I am working on a final year project at university and it is related to the flow of a slurry mixture in a straight pipe. I was just wondering how small should my mesh sizing be? We have no guidance as to how small or where to start from?
From what I understand I should keep reducing the mesh size until there is less than 2% difference between the head loss after running the solutions....but I just don't know where to start the mesh sizing from and how to justify using that figure. Any help would be much appreciated. Regards Sami |

As the simulation result would not change by refining mesh.

It is always reccomended to do a Grid Independance Study for any simulations.

Hi Sami,
If you are asking about the starting ... according to the model that you use: 1- the recommended range of wall Y+ will help you to estimate the first mesh size. 2- play on the range of mesh size incremental ratio keeping the first cell size. read more about your model. GOOD LUCK Mamdouh |
