Imep

I am modeling combustion in a heavy duty diesel engine with some set parameters to include in the setup. Where would I implement IMEP (indicated mean effective pressure) in the simulation setup? I have a value of 3.9 bars to set.

Hi,
i'm not sure, but i Think you can insert this value in "solution inizialization".

Tell me if it works :D

Thanks for your reply. I received done outside help and found that it is a calculated value.

wmoote how did you modelled internal combustion engine?would you send me informations in fluent please?

Is this any help to answering your question cemilbercin?

Crank Shaft Speed(rpm): 1200
Starting Crank Angle: 195 (i.e. 165 degree before top dead center, which is set at 360)
Crank Period (deg): 360
Crank Angle Step Size (deg): 0.2
Piston Stroke(m): 0.1524
Connecting Rod Length(m): 0.3048

Injector position:

x: -1.5e-3 m
radius: 1.5e-3 m

Injection angle: 152 degree

start of injection: 5 degree before top dead center
during of injection: 10 degree
mass of injection: 7.65e-6 kg
temperature: 368 K
cone angle: 7.5 degree
mean droplet diameter: 1.96e-4 m
injection velocity: 200 m/s

Initial conditions:
temperature=320.15K
pressure: 1.92e5Pa - 101325pa (to get gauge pressure)
oxygen (O2) mass fraction: 0.233

Boundary conditions:
Piston temperature: 500 K
Cylinder wall temperature: 420 K
Cylinder head temperature: 470 K

thank you very much brother...are you student or engineer?ı have to improve my fluent ability so would you send me any fluent applications with picture or training videos?

fluent87 February 28, 2013 04:09

On https://support.ansys.com you can find everything :D

cemilbercin February 28, 2013 16:19

thank you very much brother wmoore16 and fluent 87...but how can I enroll or register in this site? https://support.ansys.com ı can not go in this forums...could you help me please?
ı should find fluent applications for booting my knowledges.thank you for yours all help.

if you are student you can register yourself on
https://support.ansys.com/portal/sit...plate.REGISTER

also, if you are not student, apply on
https://support.ansys.com/portal/sit...late.REGISTER/

Anyway you need the customer code that you can find Ansys License Invoice (yours o your University). :)
