Hi,

I was trying to run multiphase flow simulation with interfacial transfer modeling. When I added more interfacial transfer terms into play and tried to run the calculation. A problem window pops up and the errors are shown below.

# Divergence detected in AMG solver: mp-x-momentum -> Decreasing coarsening group size!
# Divergence detected in AMG solver: mp-x-momentum -> Increasing relaxation sweeps!
Interrupting...
# Divergence detected in AMG solver: pressure correction -> Turning off correction scaling!
# Divergence detected in AMG solver: pressure correction -> Increasing relaxation sweeps!

I was trying to adjust the solution controls-multigrid but it seemed that it didn't work at all. I was wondering if there is anyone knowing how exactly I should tune all these parameters.

Thank you a bunch. Your advise will be appreciated!

Hi
I have the same problem of: Divergence detected in AMG solver: pressure correction in an Eulerian multiphase model.
can you solve it?
I don't have any idea about that.

could someone explain me more what is it about?
thanks.

I have heard from others that using eulerian model with multiphase flow will result in divergence with steady state flow.

Why not try using transient flow with small step time?

Hi
thank's for your answer.
I have done this case with unsteady flow too but again this error apeared.
I don't know what do i do any more.

Hi,
My idea is problem in your mesh...The same case happened with me also...also try reducing the under relaxation parameters...hope this works.....
