work with FLUENT
I have to start working with FLUENT regarding to simulate solid and fluid at the same time for analysis. is there any tutorial or similar examples to helping me to start ? I am new user of FLUENT so, any helpful document would be welcome...

CFX and FLUENT are two CFD software codes that solve the CFD problems differently. You need to decide which software to use depending on its suitability for your purpose.

I think you should use Ansys CFX to simulate this problem. May be this could even be dealt easily with the new Ansys Workbench version.

Hi there
Generally, CFX and Fluent both can be used in your case despite of a few differences exist between them. Both Fluent and CFX are control volume based. Fluent is finite volume (cell-center based) in contrast to CFX which is finite element (vertex based) for domain discretization. For general applications Fluent has some advantages over CFX. Each of them has its own capability and weakness. There are also differences in their solver method. CFX uses only one approach to solve the governing equations which is coupled algebraic multigrid in contrast to Fluent which offers several others methods of integrating such as density, segregated and coupled pressure based methods. Some people believe that Fluent is better than CFX regarding convergency speed particularly in multiphase problems. I personally prefer to work with Fluent altogether. |
Hi, thank you for your information, Actually for now, I tried to use FCX for my purpose but in the case of tutorial and example files I prefer to do with FLUENT, there are much more example files available in the net. anyway, I am working on it and if there are some troubles I will asking...
