Hi .. I created the attached geometry mode in GAMBIT and exported it in ".msh" format.
I first created the geometry as is in the pic below (Only the part above the axis .. its an axisymmetric case)

it worked 100% right....got the results....

2nd time I tried it constructing in the vertical orientation as shown below:

I gave the same BCs .. axial vel etc ..but got the following weird symbols in the initialization :

I tried to initialize manually by putting the inlet value in the initialization boxes.. but it gives "Divergence detected in AMG solver .. (for all equations if i try to change the cycle type and stability method in solutions - advanced options"

(Its v imp for my project ... after having worked so much and coming to the end of writing a huge UDF for vertical case i have come across this error! . NOTE : no udf was loaded in the above case i mentioned..its later part

Axisymmetry only works in fluent when the axis of symmetry is the x-axis.

@chaosh
Thanks a lot mate! .. can I know how did u come to know about that? If im not wrong.its nowhere in the manual!
I really wonder why FLUENT COULD HAVE SUCH A RESTRICTION/FLAW!

It is very well documented in FLUENT documentation:

// User's Guide :: 2 // 5. Reading and Manipulating Meshes // 5.2. Mesh Requirements and Considerations // 5.2.1. Geometry/Mesh Requirements

"Axisymmetric geometries must be defined such that the axis of rotation is the x axis of the Cartesian coordinates used to define the geometry"
