Kxt908 is on a distinguished road
I am currently doing a dissertation on fluid flow within a rotary wankel engine in Ansys Fluent.
I know a few people on this forum have also tried this with much difficulty.
At the moment these are the current problems I am having and was wondering if anybody could give me a hand. I have fairly limited experience with Fluent and have done one project with CFX but again my experience is fairly limited.

1. I have a working model that does not include apex seals on the rotor allowing fluid flow between each chamber. I would like to close these chambers by modelling apex seals. I have seen numerical methods using a momentum source in a UDF to reduce the gap between rotor apex and rotor housing. However, this does not give accurate results for pressure.
Is there any way of modelling three totally seperate fluid bodies that are seperated by a solid in Fluent?

2. Secondly, my current model rotates using a UDF in the eccentric motion of a wankel rotary engine. Once I calculate the solution and view the graphic in post the rotor has turned an amount depending on number of time steps etc. Is there a better way of viewing results throughout the whole phase of rotation?

Any information you could provide would be much appreciated.

Kieran
