interface shadow missing
Hai,Im doing heat transfer simulation using Fluent. Recently Im facing a problem, where the interface shadow will be missing when i close the fluent setup and reopen it. the interiors and the new walls with the Id, which are created along with the interface shadow are there. is there any solution for this??? :confused:
every time i wanted to edit or reopen the fluent setup, i`ve to reset the setup to proceed. it`s really taking all my times. please help me with this. thank you |
Are you using Gambit or Ansys Meshing for generating mesh?

Ansys workbench meshing... the interface become interior...i tried to change to back but failed...

Interface becomes interior if both the domains are of fluid. In ansys meshing by default every domain is solid. But you have option to declare if the domain is 'solid' or 'fluid'. After you do so, you need to make the interface again. You can right click on the interface and select 'generate interface automatically'.
This should work for you. |
yes both domain are fluids but i declare it as fluid before i mesh. everything fine at the first time simulation. however if i close the fluent and reopen it. the interfaced zone missing and new zone(interior) created. i tried to make interface again but i`m failed. :( and i coouldn`t find the option 'generate interface automatically'. :confused:

One more question: Are you using Workbench to generate mesh then export it to fluent (for setting up case)? Or you use workbench for entire procedure?

im using workbench for the entire procedure... im doing fluent setup through workbench...

Sorry but now I do not have any suggestion for you except that you do the meshing and fluent setup separately.
I have had my own issues with workbench and then I realized that it is better to do it the old way. |
ok.. but i dont know how to do it separately...should i mesh my geometry in workbench and save it. then i open fluent separately and import the meshed geometry there. is that how it`s work??

i just notice there are few applications under ansys meshing : ICEM CFD 14.0 , TGRID 14.0 nad TurboGrid 14.0 ... should i use any of this meshing ad

I have no experience with any of them so no comments. But I think Ansys meshing is good enough for your application.

im bit curious about the time step setup..if you dont mind... i planing on simulating heat transfer for 10min, ..etc. im wondering how to fill up the values for time step size and number of time steps... this is how i fill them up : time step * number of time step = 10min * 60 sec is it correct?? |
