Heterogeneous Reaction Simulation

Hi, all
I need your help.
I wanna simulate a gas-solid heterogeneous reaction using FLUENT.
My conditions are as follows:
The gas phase is a mixture consist of 3 species and the solid phase is as well a mixture consist of 2 species. Now, one specie in the gas phase is going to react with the one in the solid phase. Besides, the products are two which are in two different phases respectively. For the purpose of illustration, this reaction can be expressed: A(g)+B(s)=C(g)+D(s).
I already know, the heterogeneous reaction rate is defined with UDF in phase interaction option. However, Species Model also allow us to choose reactions. I am a little confused, because even though i do not choose reaction in specie model(only enable species transport), i can still define reaction in phase interaction.
so, my question is whether i should active volumatric reaction or not in specie model?
thank you all, expect your valuable advice!

Hey buddy
There's a tutorial in FLUENT something about CVD (chemical vapor deposition). you can refer it and learn how to handle your model, because it's sort of similar to your model. But, if your reactions is not an Arrhenius one, you need to write your own UDF.

Hello, Azarafza.
I guess the example provided by tutorial is "A rotating disk CVD reactor for the growth of Gallium Arsenide (GaAs)" Right?
However, my model is Eulerian Multiphase Model.
My aim is to simulate gas flow through a porous solid region. (The region which is formed by many spherical particles can be initialized by using patch. Besides, by applying Eulerian Multiphase Model, I can realize define the diameter of particles)
If I do as what this CVD does, it seems to be impossible to set the diameter of solid particle.
As you mentioned above, my heterogeneous reaction rate can not be expressed by Arrhenius formula. So I need to write my own UDF.
Now, because it's 10 am in China, I just do calculation again.
Some trouble bothers me again. When I turn off my heterogeneous reaction, the calculation can run successfully, but once I enable my heterogeneous reaction and define the rate using my own udf, it is of divergence.
I do not if you are of interested in my model. If you are, I can tell your more details.
I am a senior at college, meanwhile i am a novice in CFD code.
My tutor arranged this task for me, but he is also not good at this kind of problem.
Thanks for reading my long reply!
Best wishes!
