Hi All,

I have a question with regards to the boundary layer mesh requirements when using the K-eps turbulence model with standard wall function.

The user guide says that in order for it to be valid you need y+ values of 30-300. Also says you need a few of additional cells in the bl (does not state how many).

My question is if I mesh surfaces and then grow my volume mesh at a reasonable growth rate (say 10-15%) will I achieve the above assume my y+ is 30-300? Or maybe were my y+ is close to 30 I have additional cells in the boundary layer and where y+ is close to 300 I have only 1 cell in the boundary layer? Is there a way of interrogating number of cells in the boundary layer in Fluent? If you have only 1 cell in the boundary layer then what are the implications when using the standard wall function?

Cheers,
Ian
