two different turbulence models at same time, it is possible in Fluent?

Hello guys!

Sorry for the new thread!

First, I'm a newbie in Ansys Fluent and I'm trying validate a flow passing throug a channel with a roughness pattern. My problem is: I need to use Low Reynolds K-epsilon model inside roughness pattern valley and RSM (Reynolds Stress Model) above is tip. It is possible in Ansys FLuent V13? if yes, how can I do that?

best regards

the roughness pattern is very similar to this, inside triangles valleys I need to use K-e and RSM above them

I don't think so.

and if I use one at one time and another in a different time, would it be possible?

I hardly think that such a procedure is possible because there are different/additional variables solved in the RSM model. There will be a lack of information at the interface (no matter if the interface is in space or time).

What is the reason for such an approach?

You have two options:

1. Use low Re RSM model (BSL RSM type)

2. SST model with curvature correction
