Hello there,
I am involved in a numerical simulation of particle/ion diffusion through a thin membranes with tiny gaps apart. The diffusion process does not involve any fluid flow through the membrane, just pure diffusion. The concentration of ion above the membrane is higher than below the membrane, so the ion will diffuse through the membrane (through the tiny gaps) until equilibrium is reached. (Note: the membrane is emerged in the fluid which is not moving) My question- Is it possible to carry out this diffusion process using FLUENT? If yes, what type of model should i start with? as im quite new to FLUENT, im not quite familiar with what is available and possible. i hope i make my problem clear. Would appreciate if anyone could provide a guideline or some useful advice. |
