Dear All;
I have a Fluent case file, but no corresponding *.msh or Gambit *.dbs files. I want to clear mesh and access to its geometry. When I import the case file into Gambit 2.4, an error appears " fe4317.exe has stopped working". I think it is because of 15 million elements. Any Idea Why this happens or how can I get the body geometry without meshes? Win 7 64 bit, Exceed 64 bit. Thanks a lot. |

Fluent has an option of exporting surface mesh. You can try importing that surface mesh in to gambit.
Although if you have newer version of Fluent I doubt it will work. Ansys is closing its door for Gambit. |

Thanks Vasava;
I have done this and imported Fluent surface mesh in Gambit, but cleaning surface meshes and boundary conditions will result in virtual faces which can not be exported. As I said I need to extract just body geometry and import surfaces of body in Ansys meshing. Any idea about how to get rid of virtual faces or volumes? Using the option"convert nonreal to real" in gambit did not help. |

I do not know any other solution. Also I do not have gambit any more.
You can play little bit more with gambit and try to make it work. |
