Does fluent calculate reversed flow situations more simply than it should?
I have a case where I am expecting reversed flow (nozzle expansion with pressure outlet on all the boundaries around the nozzle domain) and I tried to look for an explanation that does this reversed flow create inaccuracy to my simulation. Basically according to simple Fluent manual description it shouldn't but my University's CFD-teaching slides say that it is probable that Fluent makes simplifications when reversed flow situation is encountered. Any idea what actually happens when reversed flow occurs?
Of course back-flow boundary conditions are not accurate (not taken from the adjacent cells) so at least this creates inaccuracy for reversed flow situation...
