Hello everyone, iam trying to create a detonation wave iam using single step reaction mechanism, though many journals say that reduced chemical kinetics mechanism should be used to create detonation. I just want to give a try with single step. I created a high pressure and temperature zone and a zone of gaseous h2o. Here i used explicit type. Initially the combustion reached a pressure of 141atm and velocity was about 1800m/s ans temp was about 4220k. Gradually the pressure and temp reduced to 58atm and 3750k after 5500 iterations. I have attached the picture of the pressure front formed can anyone say me whether the reaction trying to form detonation front or not. Iam a beginner in fluent.

dear ganuganu, i am doing the similar hydrogen detonation simulation, i use the finite-rate/eddy-disspation model, but the pressure shock i got is very low, and the velocity is also very low. i am very interested in your models and some parameters. I will thank you very much for your help

thanks.you mean the laminar finite rate model is suitable for the detonation.i also want to know the explicit type is set in the solution methods?
