Solid Region - Solid - Fluid conduction
Hi all,
I am trying to simulate (using Fluent 12.1) a flow of hot oil flowing in a steel pipe surrounded by a solid material (just like a heat pipe). As the oil flows it warms up the solid material. Now I ask you: how can I define the solid region surrounding the pipe? How can I make Fluent simulate that solid correctly? I hope my question was clear. I wait for your answers! |

Thank you so much. Can you explain me how can I divide my model into two different regions? Do I have to do that during the meshing phase? I used Gambit for the generation of the geometry.
Thanks again! |

Thanks
I want you to know that I'm trying to simulate the flux usign a 2D domain, corrisponding to a half of the section of this pipe. I used Gambit for generating the mesh. Now I ask you: do I need a multibody tool during the mesh generation? Do I have to activate multiphase model during the simulation? Thank you so much!

You can divide your model into solid and fluid regions when you create your geometric model. I usually use Design Modeler for geometry generation. BRs, Long Nguyen |

I think that activating multiphase model depends on what type of your fluid. BRs, Long Nguyen |
