Getting same output values for different values of parameters in Workbench
 

Hello all,
I'm trying to simulate an airfoil configuration in Ansys Workbench with Fluent. I have defined the angle of attack as the input parameter. I have also defined the wind resistance and downforce (I'm simulating for a race car) as output parameters. I have given the angle of attack as 10, 20,30 (deg.) and so on but I get the same values for downforce and air resistance. Can anyone tell me how to solve this problem ?

I have been having a similar issue with output parameters giving the same values despite different input values. I did discover that if you export the files (click the box to the right on the parameter screen for export) and then go into them individually they have the correct results calculated - ie. open up fluent in the individual files, go to reports and print the results you're interested in, they will be correct. I have not yet been able to figure out why the answers do not display correctly in the parameter screen of the original file though. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The interaction between Fluent and Workbench after solving is a little confusing. What's happened to me, and is probably what's happening for you, is that the output parameters are created in Fluent and Workbench, but are only saved in Workbench. If you open Fluent again and go to Parameters... the output parameters you defined earlier will be missing.

When I did this in versions 12 and 13, saving the project from Fluent after defining the output parameters did the trick, and it'll probably still work in later versions. More reliably, I've started calculating all my output parameters in CFD-Post instead. CFD-Post lets you define more complicated expressions for output parameters, too.

I got this problem for a long time in both Fluent and CFX when I used Workbench to run them. It happens not usually but ocassionally.
