Hi everybody,

I'm working on a 3d moving mesh and I would like to create some animations.

I've tried setting some simulations in Calculation Activities. I've chosen the contours I want to capture and set the storage type as Metafile (.hmf).

When I finish my simulation I go to Results/Graphics and Animations and choose Scene Animation/Set up. However I cannot read the animation files I have generated.

Which is my error?

I know some people just record images and then put them together with a differenet software.

Which is the best way to get an animation?
Is there another procedure in fluent?

Hi,

When you say that you "cannot read the animation files [you] have generated", what do you mean? Does Fluent return an error message?

In a previous thread, I described problems regarding animating a three-dimensional iso-surface, which I couldn't find a built-in capability of in Fluent. (This is the thread.) I have a feeling you're trying to do something different, but hopefully it helps.

Good luck.

I meant that hmf format is not recognized as an animation format. Displaying Animation format, hmf was not visible. I turned All formats visible and selected one of the files. No sequence was selected.

Yes, doing some research before posting I read your thread. I would like to animate a 3d iso-surface too, but before that I was trying a 3d moving mesh and contours on a plane.

Now I'm trying the same procedure but instead of metafiles as the file type I've chosen PPM image. Maybe with that I can choose them to get the sequence. I'll post my results.

Thanks a lot Tarjei!
