If the viscous model is laminar, what equation does fluent solve?
Thank you! |

Thank you flotus1!
But I don't know can I trust the result ? What is the difference between laminar model and turbulence model? Do you have some document about it ? If you have some, can you tell me ? |

There is no turbulence model involved when the viscous "model" is set to laminar.

With the viscous model set to laminar in Fluent, you are performing a DNS.
But as you already noticed, the results are affected by the discretization so you have to be very careful when trying to simulate turbulent flows. I wonder if anyone has ever successfully conducted a DNS of a 3-dimensional turbulent flow with Fluent. |
