Hi

I'm running a simulation of airfoil in 2d

I wanna create some points at the surfaces of airfoil to view Cd and Cl coefficients

However, I'm not sure how I can put those points exactly at airfoil surface cus I don't know the accurate coordinate of point due to the curved surface

Thanks for your help sincerely

Hello,

Why would you want to monitor Cl and Cd at certain points? The Cl and Cd values are calculated based on the forces (lift and drag) on the entire foil.

The solution for your problem would be selecting monitors, select create lift monitor / drag monitor (choose if you want them plotted, saved, printed etc.) and then monitor them accordingly.

Of course do not forget to set the appropriate reference values (in the reference tab) since Fluent uses these to calculate the lifd/drag coefficient.

Does this solve your problem?
