Hi everyone,
I'm trying to simulate 2d horizontal Rayleigh-Bénard Poiseuille flow, in other words mixed convection (natural+forced). I used Boussinesq approximation to simulate buoyancy effects and periodic conditions at the entrance and exit of the domain with pressure drop. The two horizontal walls have different fixed temperatures. It gives good results with water. But, reading fluent user's guide it's mentioned that while using periodic heat transfer all properties should be independent from temperature ![]() It seems also that Boussineq approximation should not be used to simulate convection in "not" closed domains ![]() I can't get it.. because it's seems to work.. and I found scientific paper using this approximation with periodic boundary conditions but not with fluent (1994-On the periodic conditions to simulate mixed convection heat transfer in horizontal channels-E. Bilgen, X. Wang, P. Vasseur, F. Meng and L.Robillard). If it's possible with other code why it's prohibited in fluent? Does someone have any idea to clarify this blur.. Thanks.. |
