Fluent failed to start

Hello,

I'm not Fluent frequent user (primarily CFX) but this time need Fluent for some task.

But, the problem is that Fluent does not want to start neither from workbench nor directly thru .exe file.

It reports "Fluent application failed to start" and that's it - no more information.

Found some recommendations on the internet but none of them works (like turning off UAC, IPv6, updating some drivers, etc.).

I believe fresh install will solve problem but don't have time doing so (takes long).

May be you know the solution for this problem.

I speak about ANSYS 17.1, Windows 7x64 with all latest updates in place.

Hello sir,

I am having the same exact problem.
Whenever i run a simulation on fluent then save and exit, i get back to it and double click the solution but says the application fluent failed to start.
Did you find a solution?

I have the same problem like you and I did nothing because it was running the last day and the next day Fluent cannot start neither from workbench nor directly.

Does anyone know how to solve? Reinstall the current or the advanced version of workbench does not help at all.
