Overview of ways to postprocess transient data
I have tried and failed to get an overview of my options for post-processing transient data from Fluent.
In my simulation (of marine waves interacting with a structure), my data of interest can be easily narrowed down quite a lot, so that I in principle should only need to keep less than 1/2 MB for every iteration. I can 'select' this data in fluent using various iso- and iso-clip-surfaces. But when it comes to exporting this data I hit a wall: If I want to export only that data, I can only choose ASCII - choosing CFD-post-compatible will only let me export entire zones. But what can I do with this ASCII data afterwards? Is there a way to, say, read {x,y,z}-coordinates into a surface in CFD-post? Are there other tools I could use that could come in handy here? |
