hi ,

Im trying to get the mass transfer rate of water vapour from a flat plate.

the setup is the plate is in a box with an inlet at one end and outlet at the other, warm air is coming in and over the plate (at 0.5m/s). The model being used is species transport without reactions.

what I can get is the mass fraction of air and h2o in the system, but cannot find how to get the rate of mass transfer (which I think should be in kg/s)by this I mean the rate at which the water vapur is removed form the flat plate.

is the function available in fluent or would I need a Udf to get it?

Hi Mattk,
Go to Report/Flux report and from the right column (boundaries), select the appropriate place you want to have mass flow rate. Another option is surface integral from report and from that you can receive several kinds of mass flow report.

I have this issue as well. I would like to know the mass transfer rate in the domain not the surface. How should I get it.

If you are using a built in interphase mass transfer model or custom UDF then just go to the phase interaction under the dropdown for a contour plot. This will show the mass transfer rate in kg/(m3-s)
