Viscoelastic flow in fluent ?
 

Hi,

I have been looking at some of the older posts in this forum which mentions that fluent is not capable of modelling visco-elastic fluids.

But, in the fluid properties tab of fluent, there are certain models available to model the viscosity in non-newtonian fluids. Models like - Power law, Carreau model for pseudo-plastics, Cross model, etc are available to specify viscosity as a function of shear rate and temperature.

So, why can't fluent be used to model visco-elastic fluids (say Pseudoplastics or shear thinning fluids) ? The only difference is going to be in viscosity which can be specified through in-built models or UDFs !

In my case, I need to study a two phase flow involving a Newtonian fluid and a shear thinning fluid. Are there any specific reasons why this can't be modelled in fluent ?
