Steady State Solution animation

Hi guys,

I have been trying to mess around for days in both Fluent and CFD post but I haven't been able to figure out a solution as of yet. I have solved a steady state setup which gave me a semi periodic coefficient of drag, but that's not the issue. I had the solver save data every 10 iterations from 0 to 2000 so i have various contours I would like to animate as the solution progresses. The problem is that I can't seem to bring them into CFD post because when I try loading the case with the solution history box checked, it tells me that it cannot find the data for "blank blak" file. I can load each file individually into FLUENT and take a screenshot of the contours but that would take forever.

Any suggestions?

It would be very easy to generate a journal file that would load each data file, plot a contour, save a picture, etc. This way you don't have to do it manually, just put some time in writing the journal file. Then you find some freeware that makes an animation from pictures.

file read-data case1.dat
display contour blablabla....
display save-picture blablabla.....

file read-data case2.dat
display contour blablabla....
display save-picture blablabla.....

..and so on
