Hi

I want to simulate the airflow in a room and for radiation model I used S2S and DTRM but I was faced with a problem; View factor calculations takes too much time even with core i7 and 8G ram system! aaand after a long time show error message!!!
Do you have any idea?

Best regards,
Hassan

Hello Hassan,
about S2S, are you using default parameters? I suggest increasing faces/cluster value and decrease resolution.
In addition, I hope you have Fluent R15 or at least R14, because R13 is much more slower in calculating view factors (I tested every of these realeses!).

Best Regards

Hello Bionico

I was disappointed that someone answer to my question and thank you very much for your reply!
I'm a begginer in fluent and I have n't any experience in modeling and work with radiation models! sooo,I'm using default parameters.
I've been reading the fluent's manual for radiation models but I can't understand what says, exactly!!!!!
In addition, I'm using gambit and fluent6.3! but I will try your suggest with Ansys!
Thank you again and I'm grateful to you if you have more tips!

Best regards,
Hassan

You can try also Hemicube option (read carefully the Manuals about limitations!): it reduces computational time.
Anyway the best thing in your case is to change the parameters as I said before.

Regards
