Venturi pressure not being conserved!

Hi all,

I am currently validating Bernoulli' principle in a venture. There are no pressure inlets on the throat / neck of the venture (just an inlet and an outlet).

I am trying to validate the principle first (higher pressure > lower velocity and vice versa).

The problemI have at the moment is that the pressure does not appear to be conserved. It should be noted that I am viewing the static pressure from a 'line' I have drawn that runs through the centre of the inlet through to the outlet.

When I view the static pressure on the XY plot I get a flat line reading 'ZERO' Pascal.

If I view the velocity magnitude from the wall of the venture, a good increase / decrease can be seen (as to be expected).

However I am unable to get the same for the pressure reading (regardless of what surfaces the plot comes from.

I have tried decreasing the velocity (to reduce losses), tried an outflow for the outlet, various schemes, changed relaxation factors but to no avail!!

Problem setup:

Solver: pressure based
Velocity formulation: Absolute:
Time: Steady
Turbulence model: energy equation off, K-e, enhanced wall treatment, all other settings are default
Material: water / liquid (Ansys library)
Boundary Conditions: inlet (velocity inlet), outlet (pressure outlet), Wall (stationary wall)
Pressure: all gauge pressures are set to zero, the operating pressure is set to 101,325 Pa

Any help on this would be highly appreciated
