Export and import vector data

Hello,

I have a question regarding the use of Fluent. I have a system of infinite 3D cells, but as you can imagine, the simulation of the whole volume is impossible. Another problem is that the system is unstable, so unsteady state simulations are required.

What i want to do is basically simulate more than one cell, without changing the mesh. So the idea was to use the results of the outlet of one cell as a inlet boundary condition for other cell, this way it would be possible to simulate both.

My question is: how can I do this? How can I export the data from the outlet's (as a function of the flow time/timestep) and import it as a boundary conditions for the same mesh?

Best regards

Well you should be aware of the periodic boundary condition in Fluent, it does excatly what you want.

I also wrote an UDF to perform a similar task (periodicity works two-way, both faces see each-other; mine only one-way, only one face sees the other, which is instead is not aware of the first one), which is here:

But this is not gonna help unless you have a clear picture of what periodicity is.
