Solution methods for porous media when using VOF

Hello,
I want to simulate water flow through porous media and I need to tracK water surface too. Does anyone have any idea about what will be appropriate solution methods and turbulence model for this simulation using VOF? I am also looking for some tutorials about VOF in porous media.
