Hi everyone,
I have done some combustion simulations in FLUENT and I'm trying to process the output to compare it to experimental results. In the experiments, the temperature in the combustion can is measured using a generic K-Type thermocouple at what appears to be an arbitrarily chosen location (out of my power, not a big deal I don't think). What I would like is a way to obtain some kind of representative (point) temperature using CFD-Post if possible. Maybe some kind of average or a plot or regional averages. I have attached a shot of one of the temperature fields to give an idea of what it looks like. Thanks |

You can use the Function Calculator in the Calculators tab to calculate the average temperature in a volume or on a surface. Look through the Location options to see what sorts of custom volumes and surfaces you could create. For example, you could create several planes at different x-values and report the average temperature on each surface.

Found it, used it, great stuff. Thanks again!
