Using FLUENT 14.5 / WIN 8.1

Hello all,

Yes, I'm aware that there are many topics on getting FLUENT to run in 64 bit windows - FLUENT with UDFs, that is.. Yet, none of these topics solves my current problem. I do have experience with Fluent under windows - I've used versions 14.0, 14.5 and 15.0 in combination with windows 7 without any problems.

Now, I have to run FLUENT on my laptop for a while during an international exchange, and my university has version 14.5 available for that. The problem is, I cannot compile UDFs using 14.5 in windows 8.1. I'm using Visual Studio express 13.0, SDK version 8.1, .NET 4.5.1, everything the other topics recommend. But, when I compile and load, I get:

Quote:

udf_names.c
udf_names.c(7) : error C2059: syntax error : '}'
udf_names.c(8) : warning C4034: sizeof returns 0

Done.

Opening library "D:\gas_drag_law\libudf2"...
Error: The UDF library you are trying to load (libudf2) is not compiled for 3ddp on the current platform (win64).
Does anyone else run fluent with windows 8.1? Any fixes or advice?

Thanks and best regards
Cees
