How do I wrap a complex part?

I have a Solidworks model that I must perform CFD on in Fluent. The problem is that the model is made up of Both surface bodies & solid bodies.

I would normally just create the fluid domain (enclosure), & just do a boolean-subtraction. But as my model contains surface bodies, Design Modeler can't calculate a volume to extract.

Is there a way that I can 'wrap' the entire surface of the model? An example would be close fitting shrink wrap. This would give me a sealed volume to subtract. I'm working on version 14.0

Any suggections would be appreciated...

Hi Mark,

Not sure what licensing you have, but check out Fluent Meshing. ANSYS did a great walk through on a youtube clip: www.youtube.com/watch?v=aLjJh41iwhM

Be aware that Fluent Meshing has quite a steep learning curve, and will seem quite unnatural at first if you are only used to ANSYS Meshing.
