Drying process of a powder
 

Hello everybody,

I'm a French student in last year of master's degree and I have a project to do on the software Fluent. With my classmate we choose a process to dry a wet powder with a conductive heat flux. The heat flux is transmitted to the powder thanks to a plate of 1 meter square. An air flow is circulating on the top side of the powder to collect the water in vapor state (I don't really know which speed but it doesn't really matters...).

For the air flow I think I will use the k-epsilon model, and for the powder I would like to design it like a porous parallelepiped (but I don't know how and if it is the best way).

I'm asking you if somebody already tried to simulate a drying process on Fluent or if you have any idea of how I can do for my project. And which model is available for the mass transfer of water from the powder to the air.
