CGNS files contain no data

I made a big mistake and accidentally had Fluent write the solution files to a transient simulation in cgns format instead of to "CFD-post compatible" which I usually use.

So I loaded the cgns files into cfd-post and all of the saved variable names (velocity temperature, etc) are there, along with the mesh, but all the data is zero. Zero temperature everywhere, zero pressure everywhere, zero everything everywhere.

I double checked that the simulation was good by changing the export to CFD-post compatible and solving for only a few timesteps. The new files do contain the expected data. But I have a multiple day simulation in this cgns format I need to read.

How can I ever see the data? Thanks.
