Hi,

I am trying to run Ansys Fluent in a cluster of 2 computers. As far as I understand I have followed through this tutorial
http://www.cfd-online.com/Forums/flu...-machines.html
but am still getting the error below:

Checking the status of SMPD for INTEL MPI on the local machine ... smpd running on ASHISH-DELL

Successfully started the SMPD for INTEL MPI!
abort: Unable to connect to 'ASHISH-VAIO:8678',
sock error: Error = -1

Has anyone have an idea on what am I doing wrong? The both computers are shared and are fully accessable through ethernet cable and have firewall disabled.

Regards

After installing Microsoft MSMPIsetup everything worked like a charm!
Just had to select "default" option in MPI Types.

Hi,

I meet the same problem. When I start the fluent 14.5, it appears "checking the status of SMPD for INTEL MPI on the local machine...smpd running on tan-PC". And it stuck with this status for a whole night...I think it may has the same problem with yours. And you said that after you installing the MSMPI, the problem disappeared. Could you please tell me where to install this software, or can you send it to me? Do I need to do any other thing to work it out beside the MSMPI? Thank you very much. My e-mail is as below:xh1990@tju.edu.cn
