Jet impingement on granular surface

Hi everyone,

Does anybody have any experience in simulating jet impingement on a granular bed using Fluent?
More specifically I am intrested to know when a high speed jet impinges on a granular surface, how the surface will be eroded and how the particles are moving.

The particles are light enough so that the 1-way coupling will provide a suitable results.

I think its good to use eulerian-granular model for your particle tracking.

Dear Amir,

Salam,

Thanks for the reply. Do you have any actual experience in this regard?
What I am trying to solve is like this: Consider a surface which is covered with small, light particles. Then a jet impinges on the surface. I want to know how much particle mass is in-fluxed due to erosion and how is the interaction of those particle with the flow.

Best regards

Yes, I used this model for erosion modeling. You can use it for your project.

DEM is also another option but requires higher computational cost.
