Hello,
Can dynamic meshing only be used exclusively with the transient solver? Whenever I attempt to iterate with dynamic mesh and steady solver, fluent reports convergence at the very first iteration. |

Hello techctrl,
I am a bit confused with what you mean by dynamic meshing. The words dynamic and steady-state do not go together, and I think you may have not worded your question correctly. Dynamic meshes are meshes that adapt to the the solution space in time and physical boundaries change, which won't happen in a steady-state calculation. I have a hunch that you mean adaptive mesh, in which case it is possible to use an adaptive mesh in steady-state. Please rephrase for us to help you more effectively. C |

I'm trying to model a moving object within a fluid domain. I have written a udf defining the object's motion and hook it through the dynamic mesh section of fluent. I read a few posts here which indicated that it's possible to use the steady solver with dynamic meshing, but I couldn't achieve this. |
