sd49 is on a distinguished road
I am trying to model steady state turbulent flow through a pipe while making use of the adaptive meshing feature for Yplus/Ystar for wall boundaries in Fluent.

The user guide specifically states " It is often difficult to gauge the near-wall resolution requirements when creating the mesh. Hence, Yplus and Ystar adaption have been provided to appropriately refine or coarsen the mesh along the wall during the solution process"

However, I am unable to have fluent rework the mesh with every iteration. In the Yplus adaption dialog box, the only options available are "adapt" (which is done immediately on the current iteration), "mark" (which marks the cells for refinement/coarsening in a certain register) and "compute".

To my understanding, the dynamic meshing feature is completely unrelated and involves the definition of a UDF meshing scheme for bodies in motion within the system.

How can I have fluent check the mesh at every iteration and refine/coarsen according to the new solution and newly computed Yplus? Am I wrong in thinking that fluent can do that? Is this feature only available for dynamic gradient adaption?

Thanks
