Hi
I want to simulate a turbulent flow and heat transfer over a circular cylinder in 2D and 3D with ANSYS Gambit 2.4.6.
I need your help for meshing the domain and how to calculate the first cell height because I will use Yplus = 1 (Enhanced wall treatment).

Hi, from your experience what is the most reliable turbulence model for this kind of flow Re=3900). Please ant help it's urgent.

I realized this meshing with Gambit 2.4.6 and the result of my first simulation with standard k-e model

What is your opinion?

-mAx- will become famous soon enough
Do the same with standard k-epsilon (no enhanced wall treatment) and adapt your mesh for having first cell height with y+ around 30
And compare

This is a classic problem, and you should turn your solver on unsteady for getting "von karman" vortex oscillations
