Fluent Mesh Data Structure

Hello,

I was wondering if you can help me understand the fluent mesh data structure. Currently I have a static object in the flow field that I want to compute its flow field. Because I have to study the flow for different orientation of this object, I used ICEM CFD to generate a sphere that wraps this object, and define an interface in both fluid region. My thought was that if I do this, then I can take the mesh file, and simply rotate the inner sphere and I can get different orientation with same mesh in both regions (but non-conformal boundary between them after rotation). How I did this is by directly modifying the msh file, that is, I rotated the position of the nodes that are pointed by the following three threads
(1) inner fluid interior
(2) object face
(3) inner interface face

The end result almost produced what I wanted, but some of the nodes were in a weird place. I was wondering if you have any comments on this approach? Or is there an easier way to do this? I don't want the mesh to rotate in a single run case, but in between different runs. The two mesh files are attached for your reference (fluent5 was the original; tmp was the after-rotation). Thanks.

p.s. I can provide msh file if you need it. :)

Ah ha! never mind its off-by-1 error. FYI, the face thread is 1-based but I was using 0-based.
