Hello all, I would like to ask for a help.

I have an experimentally measured profile of velocity and temperature rise of an air flow. It is an 2D array of values (in x-y axes, aprox. 160 points). I need to prescribe this in 3D CFD case so it will basically work as a fan with heating – the drawed air will be accelerated to the desired velocity (according to the profile) and it’s temperature will raise (according to the profile, differently in different points).

I already solved the velocity part – I defined a confined volume inside the domain and I prescribed it fixed values of velocity (in the attachment is a visualisation of the velocity vectors from this volume, just for your information). But for the temperature I need to set a temperature raise, not fixed values, so this way doesn’t work. Please, do you have any advice? I am trying to have a look at UDFs (which I don’t really master at this point), but not really sure if it is possible to use them for this.

Thank you very much! Petr.

You could make a thermal profile for the wall with an UDF. Check out the customization manual in the define_profile section. You will need to make a function that describes the temperature profile you want in terms of the position on the wall. There are few examples of different ways to use the define_profile.
